Risk & responsibility
Ingesting psychedelic compounds is never completely safe. You, the reader, assume full personal responsibility for any adverse effects of ingesting psychedelic drugs, which can include hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD), PTSD, or seizure.
Relevant substances
This information provided by this project is intended for users ingesting classic psychedelics, a class of drugs distinguished by their agonism for 5-HT2A serotonin receptors that includes psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, mescaline, and DMT. We focus on these drugs based on their emerging utility in psychotherapy and guided selfwork. These instructions may also be relevant to other serotonergic hallucinogens, such as MDMA and 2C-B, and may be adapted with caution.
Do your research, exercise caution
Before ingesting any chemical, you are strongly advised to research it as fully and extensively as possible. Consider all possible risks, weight the pros and cons of taking it, and if you do, make sure the conditions for tripping are as safe, comfortable, and prepared as possible. Do not repeatedly ingest psychedelics hoping to repeat the same desired experiences; rather, prepare for each trip as if it were a blank slate, as trips often differ wildly from one another depending on a variety of factors. Finally, do not repeatedly ingest the substances in fantastic attempts to escape from reality and real-world problems — psychedelics do not bode well with habitual use in moderate to large doses, and can give rise to persistent hallucinatory, psychotic, and dissociative symptoms.
